Symbols you can’t find on your keyboard

Search by name (“dash”, “euro”, “check”, “degree”, “arrow”) or browse by group, and click any symbol to copy it. Hold Shift while clicking to collect several symbols into the box at the top, then copy them together.

Groups include dashes and special spaces, quotation marks and punctuation, currency signs, mathematical operators, fractions and super/subscripts, arrows, check marks and shapes, legal and miscellaneous symbols, Greek letters, and common accented letters. Hover over a symbol (or click it) to see its Unicode code point and HTML entity.

Typing them directly

  • macOS: Ctrl + ⌘ + Space opens the Character Viewer; Option + Shift + hyphen types an em dash.
  • Linux: Ctrl + Shift + U, then the hex code (2014 for —), then Enter.
